Preferred Mode of Delivery in Iraqi Primiparous Women

Background: Pregnancy is a physiological action that ends with pain, fear, anxiety and fear of death for themothers. Delivery multi-dimensional process associated physical, emotional, social, physiological,cultural psychological dimensions.Objectives: To identify the preferred mode delivery in Iraq primiparous women factors make themchose this delivery.Methodology: descriptive/analytical cross-sectional study performed among 150 Iraqi womenwho attended gynecology clinic Baghdad teaching hospital/medical city from July to November 2019the information regarding socio-demographical data asking about causes choice.Results: Total was enrolled study. Majority them vaginaldelivery (68.7%) while who cesarean section were (31.3%). high rate vaginal deliverypreference seen because faster recovery, easy baby bonding, sectionand short hospital stay, those thought they can avoid labor painand on baby’s life.Conclusion: interviewed our research delivery,while remaining due lack knowledge or vaginaldelivery. Doctor’s recommendation medical advices play major role enhancing awarenesstoward delivery.
